McRae's is a gem in East Dallas but mor importantly their wait staff is at the heart. Stephanie G. Is awesome, hopefully she'll serve you. She is very aware of customers, I received my Lemon Capers Chicken dish and asked her if my dish had grits. She confirmed and let me know they were cheese grits and I thanked her, a few minutes later she came by to ask if I was ok with the grits or needed something else because she noticed my expression. I asked for mashed potatoes and less than 2 minutes later I had them. Later when she boxed my food she indicated she would remove the grits. She also watched our table and my friend slowed her eating Stephanie came by to check on her to confirm she was happy with the dish or if she needed it boxed. We asked how she knew and she said she watched and noticed my friend hadn't touched her plate after a couple of minutes. She boxed her dish too. She is an awesome example of the great service there. The food is awesome the Lemon Chicken dish and Shrimp dishes are excelente and their spicy margarita was nice and smooth. I love the theme of the restaurant and the fact they serve your bill in complete vintage children's books.....thank you Stephanie G. for a great experience that rivaled the most exclusive restain Dallas. We went for brunch today and I wish I could give this place 10 stars - it was amazing! Service was super friendly and attentive, food was fantastic, and atmosphere was unique and charismatic. We will absolutely be coming back - the small touches like the cocktail animals, the golden book checks, and the decor were so fun!! Grits were 10000000/10, everyone has to have them.

In search for a brunch(y) adventure we found this amazing restaurant today (thanks to a search through our buddy Google). The vibe of McRae’s American Bistro & Cocktails is incredibly inviting with whimsically charming decor curated throughout the space. The food was, with every bite, deliciously decadent! Opting for the pimento cheese and crackers, we were surprised by the herbaceous, spice-infused crackers and fiery spread! By the time my bacon burger arrived, I happily tucked in for the juicy treat! While the food was incredible, our server Jessica was great! Walking us through our options and offering suggestions, she insured our first visit WILL NOT BE OUR LAST!

The food was really good, but the staff is what makes the place. Friendly and knowledgeable about their menu items and their gluten-free options. Loved the atmosphere as well.

What a hidden gem! We have lived five minutes from here for a year and just discovered now! The Shrimp and Grits entree and Pizza’s just fantastic! Great decor you wood never guess on Garland Rd

First off, this place is awesome. Service was exceptional. Food was great. I am not currently drinking, but the cocktail lists looked delicious. And decor was so cool and cozy. Gluten Free menu items clearly marked on the menu, and staff/management were knowledgeable. Love, love, loved it. We will be back. And with more people!

Great place! Definitely worth checking out. Food was great. I had the pork chop and my wife had the Atlantic salmon. We also had the Texas Twinkies and Granny Smith salad. Both were good and all the food was fresh. Service was great and very attentive. They had only been open about a week so there were some “new restaurant” areas of opportunities but overall it was a great spot. Seating was a little tight but it didn’t cause any issues for us! We will definitely be back.

Love the elegant, elevated vibes here. It feels so fancy and unexpected on Garland Rd. A beautiful mix of feminine and masculine decoration and design with crystal chandeliers and heavy gold frames on the red velvet patterned wall paper. My husband says the fig old fashioned is the best old fashioned he’s ever had. My salmon was expertly cooked with a buttery crisp outer layer and so flavorful. And the flourless chocolate cake is to die for. Excellent service also! HIGHLY recommend!!
